A Neighbourly Gathering for those of us that are inclined to live vertically!
Sponsored by Aaiotanga Peace Pace Trust and the Waitematā Local Board.
Celebrating Neighbourhood We live in an exceptional neighbourhood, let's fill the Emily Place Reserve for an afternoon or music and more and celebrate ourselves as a community. This event is one of many nationally and part of Neighbours Day Aotearoa.
Community Building and Space The Aaiotanga Peace Place is a not-for-profit at 22 Emily Place, working on peace-building in community. We have a space and would love to learn what activity or action you'd like to see happening within it. Many things are possible, some of which you perhaps can't do inside an apartment. Come visit on the day, the doors will be wide open.
"The Big Building Biscuit Bake Off" Time to cut loose in the kitchen and wow the world with your very agreeable peanut brownies, afghans, gingernuts etc. Represent your building and win the (soon to be) coveted, neighbourhood trophy.
Judge's decision is final we're told. Any biscuits not eaten by the end of the event will go to a local group who help feed those without housing - so feel free to bake-up big!
Plans for the Park There are emerging plans for changes to improve the Emily Place Reserve. Come take a look at the proposed designs and give some feedback. (Inside the Peace Place)
Many thanks to our locally-sourced and neighbourly musicians - Audrey & Hazel, Mark Laurent, "4 Strings Sing" ukulele orchestra and the Chaoshan Quartet.
A shout out to the Waitemata Local Board for their support of this event.
Lastly a thank you to you, the neighbourhood of people who call the city centre home.
Please Note: In the event of rain we shall do our best to accommodate everyone inside the Aiotanga Peace Place, 2F, 22 Emily Place www.thepeaceplace.org.nz - or find us on Facebook
Neighbours Day Aotearoa is celebrated annually throughout New Zealand and is part of a campaign encouraging us as kiwis to connect with our neighbours and celebrate our neighbourhoods.
