Co-Create Age Cottage
Community Garden
Location
9/9 Glasgow Terrace, Grafton
Through 2027 the backyard of the cottage which is currently just lawn, will be co-designed as a place for community to be together. The cottage has more green space beside the walkway to their garden gate and a small street berm which could be planted too.
About
The University of Auckland Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research (Co-Create Age) has just had the blessing of their renovated cottage next door to Grafton Campus. From early 2027 this will be their base and used for collaborative research with community. It is also a showcase of dementia-friendly design.
The cottage will continue the work of the Keen Gardeners Group coordinated by sociologist Dr Tamika Simpson.
